Public Service:

Rob Glowacki N9MVO mentioned there are no events planned at the moment.

John Zietlow K9WIC reported there is no current communication regarding the ChicagoLand Marathon at the moment.  Since that particular event is a profit-making venture, we as Amateur Radio Operators are not to be supportive yet because we’re assisting government agencies (Schaumburg Police/Fire) in hosting radio coverage, there is no conflict.  This year’s event is scheduled one week prior to the Dayton (Xenia) Hamfest.  There are other potential events that may request support as the year’s calendar solidifies.  Updates will be announced as we learn more.

Rob Glowacki N9MVO and Mike Sorensen K9KQX discussed near-term planning to move our newly purchased FTM-300DR machine to be physically installed at the Small Drive pump house.

Construction Project (CP):

Don Dewar KD9NJR hosts our events.  January meeting schedule has returned to normality with sessions held on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays.

VE Testing:

John Shofield AC9JS reported there is currently one candidate scheduled for the next session February 5th.

Barry K9FMB Net Chairman reported our Nets continue to be well attended.

Radio Hill Gazette RHG:

Mike K9KMV No Report.

Recurring Calendar:

No action items.

No report.

Dennis C. Calvey KD9HIK Publicity Chair has submitted our Tech Class cancelation notice to the Daily Herald.

John KD9KSH is considering a possible summer picnic to replace the canceled Lucky Monk Holiday Party.

Leo N9NBH discussed potential for course offering in September to replace the now-canceled Technician Class due to temporary closure of our Library resources.

John Zietlow K9WIC presented Committee organizational ideas tonight with detailed roles/definitions/duties as our club moves to better apply the various resources we have within the membership.

Old Business:

Winter Field Day is planned for January 29th @ 1PM following CP.  Dennis KD9HIK and Rob N9MVO are Winter Field Day Chairs.  Discussion regarding equipment and site preparation ensued.  SARC-ALL updates will be published beforehand to ascertain potential head-count.

John Douglas KD9KSH moved to allocate a $200 budget for coffee/food.  Members of the Board were in attendance tonight and approved the proposed expenditure.

New Business:

Don Dewar’s QSL initiative for welcoming new NET attendees will be assigned to the Membership Committee to define resources needed (printing, postage, administration) and subsequently request BOD funding to begin the program.
