Construction Project (CP)

Cliff Sowka K9QD:  CP on hiatus until the fall.  Elevator is back in service and ready for our first session the fourth Saturday of September.

I was assigned responsibility of sanity-checking our SARC Insurance coverage and learned the following:

Coverage is not limited to Schaumburg facilities – as long as it is club business.

In other words, if I go somewhere to do radio activity and have an insurance claim, it won’t be covered unless it was a SARC event/function.

What is a SARC event?

Well I would think an email audit trail (like Triathlon volunteer requests), a scheduled posting on our site’s calendar, or other documentation that a loss occurred while a SARC-hosted event.

  • Impromptu gathering might be covered if we can show the insurance carrier it was a typical activity (Fox Hunt, POTA, tower take-down, Estate Sales for a SK’s widow).

Social:  John Douglas KD9KSH interim Chair reports update to August 18th Picnic at Bartlett Log Cabin:

I visited the Log Cabin and found that all the charcoal burning grills have been removed from the park.   So we are not going to have hamburgers as planned but will be having two types of chicken.   Roasted and grilled, along with potato salad and coleslaw and more.

This change is for the better as almost everyone likes chicken, and it is fitting for a summer picnic.

There is still time to sign up for the event and all you have to do is send me an email to secure a spot at the Log Cabin.   Don’t sit home watching TV when you can be having a good time with some very nice people.
