Barry K9FMB explained options available to us in replacing the canceled PayPal relationship. It is possible Zelle could be invoked since major banking institutions have been long-capable of handling these transactions. Since a dedicated eMail account is required with Zelle and since our Treasurer duties can change personnel over time, there needs to be an alternative and flexible address accessible to new officers. The actual mechanics of such a move isn’t clear at the moment.
Barry reminded our ARRL Insurance needs to be renewed in January and the $300 annual expense is unchanged from last year.

John Zietlow K9WIC reports 2023 ChicagoLand Marathon is scheduled for May 7th.
Repeaters
No action taken on the Barrington Road 2M antenna evaluation. Our monthly copper pipe service fee will increase from $63 (teaser rate ends) to $160.
Construction Project (CP)
Cliff Sowka K9QD announced CP will be canceled for the fourth Saturday of December since it aligns with Christmas Eve morning. Cliff contacted our webmaster to delete the event from our website’s calendar.
VE Testing
John Schofield AC9JS reports seven (7) candidates attended our FCC exam session. This Dec 3rd session was host to two (2) of Leo’s N9NBH Tech Class students; both successfully completed their exams.

Barry Friedman K9FMB reports Nets continue to be well attended. We are in need of a host for the second Tuesday of the month TechNet. We will also need a new Chair for 2023.

Publicity
Dennis C. Calvey KD9HIK Publicity Chairman provides the following:
- Upcoming General Class Sessions at Hoffman Estates Branch Library published on SARC Facebook page, SARC RHG and sarc-all broadcast.
- Problems listing class on ARRL website. Will keep trying.
- Class information submitted to the Daily Herald for publication. Awaiting confirmation.
- Roof top antenna project at Tennis Plus Club still on hold until the Schaumburg Park District (SPD) accepts completion of the current rooftop HVAC upgrade project. SPD confirmed that they will provide labor to assist in installation when rooftop work is completed.
- We may have to order Dacron rope and possible pulleys for the HF Antenna long wire. Waiting to confirm where we may install the antenna before ordering. Overall project cost with possible additional cost for Dacron rope and pulleys is still below budgeted cost.
Social
John Douglas KD9KSH has contracted with Lucky Monk for January’s Holiday Party on Saturday 21st at 6PM. SARC approved $300 to have complimentary appetizers served.
Danny Kafka KD9HIL moved to budget the expense, Dennis C. Calvey KD9HIK seconded, and the Motion carried.
The restaurant plans to have four (4) entrée choices for us to choose. SARC-ALL announcement with invitation/RSVP will be published.
Two Club Acknowledgement Awards will be presented at the event:
- Member of the Year
- Bill Smead K9IIM Construction Project recipient.
John reminded we will need a new Social Chair for 2023.
Education
Leo N9NBH not present; Dennis C. Calvey reported Leo’s General Class is published on our FB site and the Daily Herald acknowledged our publication request.
Programs
John Zietlow K9WIC reports December’s Presentation will be SLOT Antennas.
Old Business

New Business
Ending our relationship with PayPal necessitates the establishment of a new payment service.
Cliff K9QD moved to select Zelle and Danny KD9HIL seconded. Motion Carried.
Treasurer will work with our Webmaster to determine what requirements have to be accommodated to comply with the new banking relationship.
Treasurer access to our BMO Harris account will need updating and Barry will work with Chris Brewer AC9GN and Don Dewar KD9NJR to schedule the session with BMO Harris.
