Repeaters

Rob Glowacki N9MVO: No additional report

 Education:

Leo Ribordy N9NBH reported being contacted regarding possible STEM participation at a grade school. It would probably be more effective if we could have a similar session at the middle school level.

Technician level class is nearing completion: 6-8 participants likely to complete the course and hopefully take the exam for a license.

Public Service

Rob Glowacki N9MVO reported on initial information regarding the MS Walk activity in May which will be moved to Hamilton Lakes. He anticipates needing additional volunteers as it’s schedule now includes 2 shifts. He will solicit volunteers when he gets additional information.

 EmComm

Howard Mitchell KD9WSV reported significant start up progress made in the last few weeks thanks to the two committee’s Vice Chairs Including Kurt Musselman K9WSV (Education and training ) and Dennis Calvey KD9HIK (Served agency liaison).

A questionnaire has been sent out to all SARC members to get a baseline on the level of interest in participating on this volunteer team.

A meeting is scheduled with Tracy Raimondo, Schaumburg Emergency Management and Accreditation

Publicity

 Dennis C. Calvey KD9HIK reported

  • a great report written by Kirk Musselman, K9MSG on his simplex test and analysis.
  • Continuing to plan a document on our long running monthy breakfast meetings at Maxwell’s
  • Received copies of previous MOUs with Schaumburg from Tracy Raimondo, Schaumburg Emergency Management and Accreditation

  Old Business: No reports

New Business

Danny Meyers K9LDM presented an update on the extensive documents he has compiled on the history of our club. A copy of the binder with all of this information will be located in the cabinets in the construction project area.

Howard Mitchell KD9WSV updated the members about engaging additional individuals to review the status of our repeaters and what, if any, changes should be planned for the future. This effort has three technically qualified newer members who are anxious to contribute but they need one or two of the current repeater team to brief them on the existing hardware and software and to lead this discussion.
