Field Day 2023

Field Day 2023 LOGO

Join us for the world’s largest on-air operating event: Field Day.

What is Field Day? From the ARRL:

Want to try out ham radio? We can get you on the air! No license is required. Our ham radio coaches will be available to walk you through the process of talking with someone else over the radio. And with over 30,000 stations on the air for Field Day there’s no shortage of people to talk to. It only takes a few minutes and you’ll be hooked! Just look for the GOTA (Get On The Air! tent)

The Schaumburg Amateur Radio Club operates four radios for this event. One is open to the public where we will gladly help you make your first contact. We’ll also demonstrate digital methods of communication at this station. You’re also welcome to observe our club members operate CW (Morse code), SSB (voice) stations and VHF (voice) stations.

Sign up to operate

Club members are invited to reserve a time slot on one of our radios.

  • You may select 2 times per form that you fill out, but you may fill out the form as many times as you would like
  • Each additional form will be delayed by up to 24 hours, intentionally. This is to allow others a relatively equal opportunity for all time slots, but still allow for a mostly first-come, first-served basis.
  • Check the table below to see what times are available for operating before filling out the form
  • Note that if you submit a form on 6/10, and another one on 6/15, the second form will not be delayed as the 24 hour window has already passed
  • Use the “All Responses” tab in the spreadsheet below to see if your form submission has been delayed

The spreadsheet below shows currently assigned field day operating time slots. There are a few conditions that will keep your call sign from appearing here see the sign up notes above.
